Therapy can cover hard topics and bring up traumatic memories. So you need to have a comfy and safe space to process all the stuff that comes up.
I find having warm beverage or a small snack at the ready can make therapy all the better.
When I worked with teens and young adults I always had a basket of snacks on my desk. It helped make therapy a comfortable space for them.
Making your own basket of designated therapy snacks, snacks easy to open and chew while talking. I suggest low sugar power or granola bars and a low sugar drink - water will do just fine.
We all know that when our blood sugar dips we feel spaced out and tired. You want to be on your game during therapy. You want to get the most out of your hour.
Sometimes it's the little things that make therapy more comfortable.
So when you come to our sessions bring a snack!
